I’ve been running at my MAF rate 180-49 = 131 do I keep all my runs at this HR. I run 4 times a week and using this new method post an operation to reduce tiredness and run more efficiently. I’ve taking a break from marathons to run more for enjoyment than always looking at pace.
Hi Ali, thanks for your question.
You should run all your runs at or below your MAF heart rate. There are no zones with the MAF method except that you can run within 10 beats of your MAF heart rate. So in your case you would run between 121 - 131.
As a side note, did you remember to take off beats because of illness. How to calculate your MAF heart rate
